I'm sure one of the reasons they've held off on wounds is because EVERYONE would get them and the islands would be full of injured pirates! And how would that look to the parents of 'innocent children'?
Personally, I would dig getting Eliza a custom eye patch or Bucky a scar on his arm or chest, but there would be OVERKILL. They would have to limit the number and type of wound or replacement item. But, if you wanna go COOL, the movie Nate and Hayes has a crewman with a pegleg where its a skull attached below the knee then a leg bone for the peg... truly nifty. |

I really like Basils ideas.
Basil, what sort of "system" would take place if four ships attacked that fleet? Would they all get the same amount of gold or would the ship that did the most damage get the most gold and the rest would be split between the rest? Getting off of that subject now. I don't think the game is "real" enough. If I haven't already said this before, we need more ocean animation. Currents set up in certain parts of the caribbean that affect your playing experience would be nice. I want to go against ocean currents and the wind against my sails. I want to see tsunamis(or just big waves) push my boat hundreds of feet up with the waves as it crashes against the side of tortuga. I want to see lightning hit islands when I'm at sea and when I'm not. We need whirlpools that spawn with certain enemy ships. We'll be stuck in the giant(and I mean giant) whirlpool until we defeat the enemy ship. If the ships already spawned, we need to go over to it to fight. The weather will then get cloudy around you(just for you) and lightning will strike the middle of the whirl pool. While fighting the enemy ship you also have to go against the whirlpools' force. If you happen to be bad at sailing you might find your self climbing the ship(like the Titanic) to escape the waters. It would be like a mini-boss battle. If you lose, you have a chance to escape. If you win, you get a lot of look. I've already said too much.(and it looks unorganized.) We just need more that deals with the real life elements. EX.) Blinding light isn't supposed to be fun, it's supposed to feel real. Although I know some people would find it annoying going against the wind and currents, it would make the game much more interesting. Buildings:We need two story buildings. We don't need a reason to have them, we just can't live on ground level forever. It'd be nice to go to the secord(or maybe third) floor of a building and then look out the windows to see what's going on outside. I.E. Weather, enemies attacking players, etc... PVP:This isn't what you may think. Am I the only one bored of the skeleton look in PVP? Even if you don't PVP you have to admit that it stinks.(unless you like it) Why can we see the bones of enemy skeletons but it looks like we have grey flesh in PVP? We're not zombies! In Pirates of the Carribean Curse of the Black Pearl, did the BP crew have grey flesh over the bones? No. We need more detail for our "skeleton self". After looking at some videos of WOW I think(my opinion) that the graphics aren't as realistic as compared to POTCO. Why then, was there a downgrade to the framerate? Couldn't they have improved that without making our characters look boxish? The character details could be inhanced just a little so the game wouldn't look so square. |

IMO. If you take the cargo vessel all by yourself, then you get all the booty, obvious.
For group efforts, there would have to be a weight factor. Based on what role you play, the amount of damage you dish out, and other factors. Examples: 1) A single ship takes on the fleet. Starts by attacking the cargo vessel from long distance. The guard ships counterattack. The solo ship weaves in and out and splits their cannons to continue to attack the cargoship, while defending themselves from the escort fleet. Meanwhile, another pirate ship sees the action and gets involved. (unasked) The first ship takes a lot of damage, but also dishes out a lot. The second ship takes little damage, but is the one who delivers the fatal shot(s) to the cargo vessel. There would be a weight factor involved. Similar to when two or more ships attack a single enemy ship now. The one dealing the most damage gets the most REP. And boarding rights belong to the ship doing the most damage. In this example, the first attacking ship would get full plunder, and the second ship may only get a smaller share. 2) You have formed a crew of 12. You are sailing on 3 different ships, 4 per ship, when you start your attack on a cargo fleet. The raid is successful, and since you are all the same crew and all participated in the attack, everyone gets full credit. (Or maybe one of the three ships was no help, out of position or didn't participate. Then the Captain of the crew could decide on share distribution.) Remember, I'm shooting from the hip here. I have had the idea for awhile, just didn't post it, until I saw this thread a few days ago. Storyline wise, I think this could be a great addition to the game. Details can be worked out. It's getting someone (cough, Disney) to listen and implement that is hard.

But if the player was a repeat offender banning them would be the appropriate move. What good are moderations measures of removing inappropriate content if everyone gets to post whatever they want until caught and the only penalty is to have it removed? |
