No.
Pirates has already made it clear that if you didn't become a founder then you can't become one now.
It would make no sense to become a founder a year after the game launched.

Yes, that'd be nice but if they let you become founders a year later after the game it gives no meaning to the word founders.
It's like turning in your homework late and getting full credit.

If everyone has gold names that just takes away the purpose of what a founder REALLY is.
As far as a gold name. I think if they would give out gold names that would be ok. BUT...only if they didn't get the golden F by their name when they get it.

That way founders are still founders and not just another person in that gold crowd.
