There are two reasons we dont add more NFL games to Sports betting.
The first is a simple matter of participation. At this point there aren't that many users betting. Unfortunately, when betting in a pool such as it is, there is only a payout when someone bets against you. Adding more games will most likely reduce your chances of having someone bet against you. I have bet on both sides for the NFL games so there will always be some sort of payout for winners, but my small bets will result in small payouts. Second, I have to be frank here, it would be a pain to manage all the games. The sports betting management facility is somewhat crude. Perhaps if the participation were greater (see point one) it might be worth the effort. |

after i gave it some thought i came to the second conclusion to be the reason... and it is a shame the lack of participation, but what you gonna do?

I agree lack of participation. I started going in there last week and I bet on the one that had the smaller bet same as this week. So right now I look pretty smart as new england is winning 34-0

I will add that a local casino near me used to do a free football picks.
It was based on the selection of about 15 games. When they were short on games it would then have a question more or less than (example) 23 1/2 combined score. They would skip the play offs and superbowl would be just a series of questions such as "who will win the coin toss" and "who will score first". The pots were progressive every week and paid in real cash. If enough people won the pot it would then be at least $20. If two people got them all right and no one got the second place pot it would then be split between the first two. All pots won were divided evenly. 15/15 $1500 14/15 $1000 13/15 $500 In the 5 plus years I did this I did manage to get them all right. It was a year were Dallas beat the Gaints on a monday night football game mid december. It was because I am a football dumby and don't pick the favorites. I was trying to pick them that week going by a newspaper clipping and got frustrated trying to read them in the limited lit room and ended up picking 4 of them different and I ended up being the only one to get them all on a 3 week pot. I think it ended up being somewhere around 12 that had to split the second place pot. |
