I realized, that the OP was wondering why they didnt put them into the game already.
I would imagine primarily because the necessity, vs the steps to implement didnt warrant it. As things move on, hopefully we'll get some more neat stuff, like eye patchs.. hehe. |

Besides an eye patch I'd like to see a parrot for the shoulder...perhaps even a wooden leg for kicks (get it? lol)...

Eye patches, parrots, a peg leg, and a hook for a hand are all iconic items for pirates. Maybe they could implement quests for these items but I couldn't see how you could go from getting your peg leg to "opps maybe I want me regular leg back" because that would seem rather impossible, lol.
Oh and to the person who suggested some form of eye loss and patch gained from that, there is a common misconception that pirates wore patches because they lost an eye. They actually wore them so they could adjust one of their eyes to see better at night. The eye patch would block the sunlight from one of their eyes and they would just be staring at this black patch all day with said eye. At night, they would take the patch off. From being accustomed to the black of the patch, the pirate would be better able to see with that eye at night. I believe they did this on Mythbusters. Gotta love that show, lol. |

![]() If we didn't have voodoo then i guess we'd be stuck that way. The folks at pirates can make it happen. |

This trick was also used for pilots who had an eye dominance problem...was actually comically shown in the movie Fire Birds with Nicolas Cage and Tommy Lee Jones... |

A fine Idea. It seems like D gets into it too much, they miss the basics of pirates, like eye patches, and parrots, lol

Correct me if I am wrong but if my memory serves me correct I believe that here is a list of all sterotypical pirate items Disney included or refrained from including in their POtC movies. Mind you I haven't watched them in a while so if anyone wants to correct the list, feel free:
1x Eye Patch (along with 1x Glass Eye) 0x Peg Legs 0x Hooks for Hands 1x Parrot (other pets include 1x Monkey and 1x Dog I believe...in At World's End) So it seems that eye patches and a pet for your pirate would be consistant with the movie's flavor but I wouldn't see what peg legs and hooks couldn't be just a little added seasoning .Also, I totally forgot about the whole "voodoo" reattaching of a leg possibility. Guess it could work if you ever decided that your wodden peg has became a little warped .

The Pets are a cool stereotype, though the parrot was the only real stereotypical pirate pet. Now, he had to do a non-stereotypical role: speaking for a mute man. The monkey, or should I say, Jack, was rather cool, especially on the cannon. The dog fetching those keys was cool as well (just a little parcel of wonder: was that dog supposed to be the same one in all 3 movies!? Because it might possibly have been the same dog left on that pagan island that fetched the thing for Teague, as well as the keys for Jack, which is cool).
Anyway, I don't think PoTC was that typical as regards to pirate themetry. Oh, and if you wear a eyepatch on the left eye, you should have a black left half of the screen. 'd be quite humorous. The same goes for the right eye and screen. |
