With the coming of Privateering PVP, I've been thinking about additions and/or improvements that can tie into this.

Jails and Davy Jone's Locker: With the advent of PVP approaching, I think it is time to overhaul the current Jail system and add the ultimate Jail which is Davy Jone's Locker. For the lower levels (below 20), the current "kick down the door and stomp past the guard" system is fine. For those participating in privateering and those above 20, I think that getting out of jail should be an adventure all in itself.

For those not involved in privateering, the system should be the same (i.e. ship sinks you go to
the jail at your last port of call). For those that are out privateering, when your ship sinks, you go for a swim. Once in the water, I can envision a whole myriad of options and/or scenarios.

Rescue by friendly privateers: Your soggy pirate can be rescued by fellow French/Spanish privateers (bonuses in gold/notoriety) via the grappling hook function. Once rescued your pirate will be automatically teleported to friendly island or be recycled onto the rescuing ship (or option to teleport to other friendly ships if crew is full) if it has an infirmary module below decks (on of many add-ons to ships when customization comes online to the game).

Capture by unfriendly privateers: On the same note your water-logged pirate can be grappled by enemy French/Spanish pirates (Bonus dependant on level of notoriety against French/Spain. Perhaps a bounty system can be worked up.). Once captured your pirate will be teleported to the prison on Isla De La Avaricia or Ile D'Etable De Porc. Once there you can attempt to breakout (not easy since your weapons are disabled) or freed by a jailbreak raid from friendly privateers.

Davy Jone's and his Locker: When you hit the water a timer clock appears on your screen. After the clock finishes it's countdown, the Flying Dutchman will surface and start rounding up waterlogged sailors for teleportation to the Locker. The Dutchman can be driven off (for a time) by friendly ships (although they may fall victim to her triguns or have the Kraken called on them).

You have some good Ideas. The Davy Jones locker thing is a good Idea.
I was thinking you should try to get your ship off the sand and into the water
with the sand crabs then as soon as you go to water you have to rock the
boat left and right by pressing the button gestures on screen once you
finally get under water you end up getting tied to a cargo hold. Then you
have to untie yourself and swim to the wheel so you can steer the ship out of
there and then it shows a green flash and teleports you back to the big blue.
I also really want underwater exploration just like World of Warcraft does.
If they can stop the lag then they can do really awesome things to this game.

I think they should make the game feel more wordly like. Just like world of
warcraft. If they can stop the lag(please just stop the lag) and use a better
graphics engine. Then they could make the islands bigger and more detailed.
Make it so you can go to places on the island you haven't gone before.
They should make the game feel bigger because the islands are so close
to each other it only takes 30 seconds to get from port royal to tortuga.
Make the sea bigger. Make it like a world. So you can be a real pirate
who sails the seven seas and while your sailing at seas you can see sharks
or dolphins swimming along the coastline. Make it feel more realistic. And
make the ship feel bigger too. Even if you get the biggest friget out of the
bunch it still feels small and closed up together. Make more cannons. Make
stairs that lead to the bottom where the cargo is and the broadsides.
Make a plank for the ship for those on the ship you want to leave. And
make it so you can play games at the bottom of the ship like liars dice or
poker. And the captain should have his own room to navigate and figure
out where they are. Then when you fight the kraken it would feel more cooler.
But they can do all of this to the game if they just STOP THE LAG!!!
