Pirate-like?

Hello everybody! I have come to talk about how POTCO players have looked at being pirate-appropriate seems odd. ( Wow. I present everything so buisnesslike, and use to many -'s xD) I'm not ranting, I just sort of wish people would recodnize to be a pirate. Now, even I avoid that. It just seems people call you a noob if you talk with speed chat (which I don't) it seems though, they are the ones actually talking apropriately. I don't really know how to say what I mean, I just feel that maybe people could see we are SUPPOSED to be pirates. I really don't know how to say what I'm saying, but I am not ranting on normal people. It makes sense not to be like that. But I just don't know. You can only find a handful of people that like to act piratey. As I said. I don't know how I am to say this, and I understand if nobody understands xD.

I think I get what you're trying to say here. You're basically say you wish everyone would treat this game as a game where we act like pirate because this is an online roleplaying game you're trying to say we should play the role of a pirate when you play Pirates! your wording isn't the best but I agree with what you're trying to say.

Yes and NO.

Yes, its a role playing pirates game and maybe a bit of piracy and manners should be thrown away.

NO, because pirates did more than pillage and plunder. Murder and other things took place too. Also keep in mind that the game is a PG game. Disneyland's Pirates had problems a few years back because the pirates in it were chasing women around. They had to change that and placed platters of food and gold on the hands of those women. Imagine this game with more pirate-like actions? It would be chaotic, and definitely will be rated R or M for mature.

The game is perfect as far as all that. Some level of respect and good manners are sometimes a good thing too, even in a pirate filled world.

the impression I was getting is we need to act a little more piratey like in the way we speak... you know like: aye, nay, ahoy, mate, matey, so on and so forth I could go on with that all day you know what I mean?

Not just the pirate lingo, but the pirate attitude. That's what I think Slash is talking about. The rudeness and crass behavior that pirates had. If they had it, we as "pirates" should too... Type of thing.

Yeah. Maybe laying off the pirate lifestyle (A.K.A as Skirata said Chasing Women, Murder for no reason etc) but maybe a little more lingo. Like I said. I don't know how to put it xD.

Wow, referring to yourself in third person. That sounds like something I would do.

Anyways, this is Disney we're talking about, they have to keep it toned down. How would you like to walk into Fort Charles while an execution's going on?

i actually was thinking that if you go to jail, you'd have to escape in a smart way. It'd be like a puzzle. If you don't escape from it in 5 minutes, the navy comes and brings you to the nearest gallows. Then, they hang you if someone doesn't come help. If you dont, well you end up in DJ's locker, where you'd take you ship and sail back. Maybe they'd do something to to live the hanging down, like you wont see it or you body hanging. Or what you could do is change it in the options.

Yeah. I was always thinking of that. Like searching the cracks and finding areas that can get you out. And maybe have some with guards.

I thought this game had enough pirate language in it coming from Abassa people and elsewhere. Oh well...

Yes, this game does need some more "pirate talk" and less of the "pirate language" I refer to above. But I doubt that will ever happen. If it did, though, that'd be pretty dang awesome

I understand completely. The whole point of a role-playing game is to play a role! Games like this are made to get away from everyday life, and the people who only go on this game to text chat to others really shouldn't be on here. When I tried being properly piratey on one of my characters, speaking like a pirate and all that, all I got was people telling me I was being stupid and should get a life.

When I joined Pirates, things were different. Everything's changed now, and I can't say I like it.
