I'll agree with you there. Although I will say that he gives very good gold drops. I've found up to about 2K gold in a loot skull from him. Thats a bit beside the point, but I do agree. I don't want to bother counting how many of my twenty-some famed came from Darkhart, but if I were to take an estimate, I would probably say about six to ten of them came from him or Timmy Dartan. The thing about him is that he is a boss that is of a fairly high level, drops descent loot (not always incredible, but fairly descent...), and you can take him down in 2-3 shots if you have a good Blunderbuss. Since you can take him down so fast, he drops more loot in a shorter time period, therefore going through his "loot collection" faster, increasing your chances of famed/legendary. The fact that many people can get famed from him by camping out for a while, is a motivation for many people, but his reputation for dropping amazing loot is far overrated.
Good topic mate, I like it. I could see good arguments coming from both sides.... I smell a possible debate. |

I personally like Darkhart for looting. Of my 9 famed, 4 of them came from Darkhart. I often will camp out at Darkhart with the sole purpose of training weapons, and will come out with a famed, a really nice rare, and 2 or 3K gold, after... hmm... let's say, 2 hours?
He's not necessarily overrated. Maybe you just have bad luck with him. I personally don't. I've known several people who camp out all day every day at Darkhart for a week and never see more than a rare weapon or gold in loot. But then other people will do the same thing and walk away with El Patron's, other legendary weapons, and 3 or 4 famed weapons in the same amount of time. I personally can kill Darkhart for an hour, without looking for anything in particular, and walk away with a famed weapon. It's just luck and perseverance. Also, stop looking for weapons. It works. Once you stop looking for something, it usually comes when you're least expecting it. |
