Private Server????

Hi Everybody, do any of ye think there is a top secret private server where new possible features are BEFORE going on test? Drop by and toss me a comment

Yes there probably is. The developers likely have a development server used to prototype code before its ready for test release. Not that we'll ever see anything that goes on it before test does, though; hiding info is a top priority in programming =).

on a side note, i thought you were gonna ask about illegal private servers for this game when i read the title XD

Well, they don't have a server, they have a whole game dedicated to pre-test updates.

If they were to have a secret server, it wouldn't be in the LIVE or TEST version. But in a whole new game.

But lets be honest here, this is all in our imagination... LoL

Well, I didn't mean an in-game server, I meant a sort of Pre-Test potco before they put it on the actual Test potco.

I would agree with Muffin. It can't be just a single server. It's got to be an entire version of the game on only development servers. There's just no other way to test integrated content before test than to have a private developing version of the game.

Yes, like a Pre-Test version of Potco. Sort of like regular Test, but with unreleased features are tested by developers and Gm's before going to the public test. Do you think this sort of thing exists?

it has to exist, where else are the developers going to put together their code? The programmers need a "sandbox" server to put together all their new code and see how it works with the rest of the game.

@muffin: your partly right, but they need a server to test things since this is an internet-based game. so essentially, saying they have their own sandbox server is the same as saying they have an entire copy of the game which they play around with. it's also defiantly not just an imagination, this kind of thing is just a common part of game designing.

Yes, there is. It's called Alpha Testing, sort of like Beta testing which is open to the public when Disney recruits them, but Alpha testing is strictly for POTCO Staff, friends, family, and probably other Disney Staff. It's also not a server, but a different game. If any of you wonder how I know this, it's because EVERY game has one. Also there may be a Gamma testing but I doubt it as it's rare among games. The only game I can name that's had a Gamma testing is Halo 2.
