Disney just released this detailed plot synopsis for the upcoming film “Pirates of the Caribbean: On The Stranger Tides” aka Pirates of the Carribbean 4 coming to theaters May 20, 2011. “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” by director Rob Marshall (Memoirs of a Geisha, Chicago) stars Johnny Depp (Sin City 3, Public Enemies), Ian McShane (Kung Fu Panda, Deadwood), Penelope Cruz and Geoffrey Rush.

Synopsis: “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” captures the fun, adventure and humor that ignited the hit franchise –this time in Disney Digital 3D(TM). In this action-packed tale of truth, betrayal, youth and demise, Captain Jack Sparrow crosses paths with a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz), and he’s not sure if it’s love–or if she’s a ruthless con artist who’s using him to find the fabled Fountain ofYouth. The movie is based on a book called On Stranger Tides. It's based on a story about 2 pirates battle it out and try to get to the fountain first. The 2 pirates are Jack Shands and Blackbeard, Wikipedia suspects Barbossa will take the place of Blackbeard and Jack Sparrow will take the place of Jack Shands.
