That's what I did - started a new pirate to make better use of my skill points - but I didn't delete my old pirate, just in case.

yeah...I'll keep my old pirate. I'm fond of her. Then I'll be able to do the boss battle when it's released if my new pirate isn't there yet....if it's ever fixed.
