I guess there isn't a third option, you either do it or don't
  all the gold... it's not cheap to try to look good... I decided to stay with Captain Walter on this (I did do the quests on test... we'll see what happens..  )

Is this quest only on test right now or open and test?
I'll be doing the quest either way. I like going against what Captain Walter wants us to do. Always fun to be on the baddies side...

Well they absolutely cannot penalize pirates in any way for having done these quests (on open), without having given some public information on the official site for everyone to have a chance to interpret. Really, should all take place in game, and not via the site, and for that matter not via any specially arranged meetings. You cant present choices that determine a players outcome without explaining the choices, or that they are even making such a choice that would effect them. Every MMORG I have played tells you when you are about to make a decision of any magnitude that will control your path.
