A grenade secret:
Use your mouse to click on the grenade you want to throw. Then alternate pressing the control key and click on that icon. You will throw faster. Thanks to Ulysses for telling me about it -- try it -- it really works.

The most useful skill with grenades is long volley... and how long you take to throw them controls how far they go... so, thanks.. but.. eh <shrug>
