I think POTCO is better, because it has a actual storyline from the very big series of POTC. Disney knows how to make addicting games, and I'm for sure going to play POTCO hands down.

not much of a storyline and now its nearly impossible to sink ships without a full crew

Actually, it has a storyline. They took most of it from the movies, and turned into a game.

PotBS has no storyline, and you just do pirate stuff, and no backbone to it...

It'a really easy to sink a ship... I go out alone on my Light Sloop, and take down Ironwalls, Phantoms ( 17 ), and Centurions. So, it is easy.

POTBS. *Giggle*. Pirates of the BS. *Giggle*. Game that's full of BS. *Giggle*
Oh, and it's being handled by Sony Station. Which means it now officially is BS.

Okay, I've seen Burning Sea.

Yeah. It's gorgeous. Will I play it regularly? Nope.

I already play tabletop games that have thousands of "units", each with their own individual specs. Heck, I own the company that produces it!

I, personally, don't want to have to track that stuff in a computer game. I want to be able to just sign on, hop my ship, and go plundering. If I die, I wind up in jail, bust out, repair up, and go plundering some more.

Simplicity and straightforwardness. I don't want to get involved in some huge pseudo-historical mechanic about why I can or cannot do a certain thing. If this means I don't shoot "people" in-game, so-be-it.

I was showing a buddy of mine POTCO today. Then he showed me WoW. And, again, it reinforced the reason I don't play WoW. He was griping about the auction market being out of whack because other players were gaming the economy. Not to mention the sheer complexity of all the gizmoes, doodads, and magical thingamajiggers you have to track in addition to your stats.

Note, I'm NOT against complexity in something like POTCO. I'm just not ready to have to memorize a tome (or keep it handy) just to operate effectively in the game. I play the game to escape reality for a bit.

If you want to remember if refit A has more X than refit D, but not as much Y as variant L, that's great. More power to you, and I hope you enjoy Burning Crusade.

Personally I'd just be happy with POTCO allowing us to customize our broadsides, providing meaningful activities for pirate masters, and keeping us in decent quests then I'm good.
