Finding glitchs and reporting them, absolutely.
But once a glitch has been identified and reported, in reality there is no further need to utilize the glitch.. plain and simple. They are NOT put there for you to use to level up quickly to test anything special. Your decision to use them is no further warranted than your decision to use them on open. The need to level up fast to test.. well im sorry, thats not really a valid excuse. I may have even agreed with it earlier, but in retrospect, I see that its not really appropriate at all. I have read posts on here, with testers begging other testers to NOT report the glitchs so they WOULD make them to open. So there is a problematic element increasing now on Test, which was previously limited. Test is there to test. Test game play, test if everything works, and if you find a glitch report it so it can be fixed when deemed necessary. Consider that if you keep using a glitch, you might actually cause/trigger more glitchs, that wouldnt even be in existence if the first glitch wasnt existing and made use of because the first glitch damaged integrity of the game environment. Test in itself is not designed for testers to "find the glitchs", no test server is. We hope those that are used to take advantage in the game are found and resolved prior to being moved to open, but its not realistic. Games ALWAYS have glitchs, and always will. You fix one glitch and another will pop up. Test the game normal game play, make sure that works. Make note of any unusual/problematic issues, and if you happen to find a glitch, report it. If you know of a glitch on open thats been reported, and users want fixed, then sure.. check to see if its fixed with each Test release, and re-report it if it is not. No need to continue using it "because its there". |

I was referring to Achilles post.
The fact that normal game play issues are handled before more isolated bugs. With jail glitches fixed this last patch, obviously some of that is important. Unlike normal game play such as everyday curse that never has given 30% damage increase. Since this thread's original post question was ONLY for test, this leaves quite a big question mark, what Disney really thinks test should be. That would require something like input on there end though, so everything is left at guessing. Nothing is said directly on leveling it says glitching and cheats. "We've taken many measures to eliminate opportunities for grief play in Pirates of the Caribbean Online, and appreciate your help in this effort. We take the issue of "glitching" and cheating in-game rather seriously. " With this being just a test server question, I find the response for test server activity above, to not report any of these above things to them at all bringing a ban or possible ban. I am done with reporting these to them, until they can state the opposite of what they have here. Why should I get ban for trying to help? Just spoke in test guild, nobody has had ever any definition, and better safe then sorry I guess. |

I have got some info now on this and have a pretty good grasp. Would like to touch more on the topic with engineers, and communication of reported bugs on test that end up going on to live, but that's another story.
I hashed out a long drawn out live chat getting to the bottom of a lot of this stuff. Just the posts here on this thread everyone has basically had different ideas of test. Using exploits for gain is not the purpose of test, nor live for that matter. Basically what the original post here was on, but with a wide open answer. I went into question deeply of using mouse software and any of these areas. If this is used for gain, as any other glitches this should be reported. A example of this could be in a wall glitch, enemies can't get to you, with or with out auto shoot. The question of going into a wall to see who is there abusing a exploit, I was given a answer that would be OK, if not remaining there to use a exploit also. Test is for testing absolutely everything. General game play, but not limited to just that. Finding wall glitches, invulnerability, or checking if they have been fixed are all part of testing. This is the point of test, to find even these outside the envelope problems. If its not found and reported on test, it sure will be looked for once it reaches live servers. This is the point of test to find and report these to hopefully be eliminated before ever reaching live and players searching and locating them once there. The key to this post, is using any of these for gain may get you reported. Finding these though a separate issue, and report these as you locate them. If there is question at all in this, I would recommend contacting Disney and getting the answers you may have in these areas. This site here is not affiliated with Disney, so check with the source if there is questions. |

I actually enjoy being on test server and reporting found glitches - I mean, thats why we were invited. I have a knack of finding glitched areas, and weird buggy stuff.. (Call it luck, sometimes bad luck when Im trying to do something else!)
But the point is, Id hope anyone playing on test would be reporting issues - I had one night where I swear I reported about 7 things I would consider SERIOUS bugs that affected gameplay. (I always imagine some employee checking reports saying, "Oh no, not HER again" LOL Im sure they are random/anonymous, but when Im on test server, thats how it seems sometimes!) |

Well guys i hope this thread doesnt get the attention of any unsuspecting glitcher. I decided to view this thread without being logged in and all the adds i saw were advertising leveling programs to max in 6 days and stuff like that.
