Now I realize this probably isn't such a touchy issue for guys (not saying it's not, just not as much), but girls are constantly bombarded with a false "ideal". Disney taking female bodies that, IMO, looked normal(ish; I didn't particularly love the "profile"...), and shaving them down is a pretty awful thing, really.

Even if the changes were motivated by simplifying the character models to decrease lag, it's still very wrong, IMO, to make them thinner like that.
