Well, actually, it does point to the correct island, when at sea. E.g. track "dire wasps" for doll quest, will point you right to Port Royal (and then right to King's Run when you land.) It's been quite a few months, since I've seen it point incorrectly.

Yes, its worked alot better since last fall, however it does still point out June incorrectly.
