Cutlass-How do I skip Cleave?

I have a mastered sword, and what i did to have a powerful one is i had all my skills have at least one dot on them. for the combos, dont skip cleave. it is very good in case yuo have a mistimed. what i did to have powerful combos is i had all the combo skills corispond with what number combo they were. so my cleave is rank three, my flourish is rank four, and my thrust iis rank five. i find this very good fo fighting high level enemies.
