I went ahead and put 5 in hex and have been pretty happy with it. The thought process (yes - thank you, I do think) was to use as few shots as possible to de-voodoo the bad guys. That was to keep me from having to TP back to an ammo store and then sail back out to Tormenta (which gets REALLY old - considering that you have to go to an island other than Cuba for ammo and then TP to Cuba and sail out from there to minimize the time on water)...... whew!

Now, with the larger pouches that need is somewhat mitigated. People who play in Guilds or with friends who are kind enough to act as a totem for you to TP to also minimize the benefit of this.

Today - with the near inception of re-assigning skill points - I would recommend putting as much in hex as possible as quickly as possible. Level everything by rendering the casters in Tormenta harmless and then single shot / cut / whatever your weaker weapons for maximum points. You can pile up points on molusk and brinescum as is further detailed in some of the leveling guides.

Then once you've mastered your weapons you can go back and re-place those points as you see fit.
