I just got this:

We are sorry for the inconvenience. Our servers are under maintenance right now. I'm not sure how long it will take to complete the maintenance, but I recommend checking back every hour or so. We will have Pirates Online back up and running as soon as possible. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
