another James Pidgley thread

Well, I've read all the Pidgeley threads as well as the Black Pearl quest threads and none apply to my hiccup on the BP quest. I'd appreciate any input from you all an my situation. So, from the top, here is where I'm at on the BP quest:

I'm still seeking James Pidgley , although I found out that Carver and Pidgeley are one in the same Carver still says he has nothing for me at the moment.

I'm lvl 20 now, and since I started the game it's been a flurry of quests coming and going so it's kind of a blur but I remember the BP quest getting combined with a tatoo quest, once I completed the tatoo part I think it was the whole Pidgeley/Carver thing. Once Carver told me he was Pidgley I can't remember what came next.

I think I've been my own undoing on this quest.

Now the only thing my quest log says is find James Pidgeley and when I track it I don't get the "guiding light" so I don't know what to do next.

Can I redo the quest from the beginning if I drop it now? I hate the though of this.
