Nope. He's just there to be there. I find him really intriguing though. Is he a friend, or a foe? Was it him who cut down the bridge? Probably not, as the bridge was cut from the other side. Maybe he was walking across the bridge when someone cut it, and he managed to grab onto the wood and climb up? Which would explain his glaring. Or someone cut it while he was exploring the other side.

He's a mysterious character.
