Sorry if this counts as double posting, but I had worked on this one and wanted to post it. I'm Eastern Time in the US, so I don't know what time I should post since the time is...well, messed up in the posts for me. In honor of Spring Break, I will try to get a new chapter out every day.
Chapter 10: Ultimate Bladebearer Unity Jack flipped backwards as Michael swung at Jack to dodge the attack. "Michael, come to your senses! Don't let the darkness trap you in its wake forever!" pleaded Jack. "I won't kill you, Michael. I know there's still good in you." Michael growled and charged at Jack saying, "SHUT UP!! I AM PURE DARKNESS, I HAVE NO ALLEGIANCE WHATSOEVER TO THE REALM OF LIGHT!" Jack blocked the charge, then did a series of blade attacks to try to knock Michael off balance. "Michael, you used to have yellow in your eyes...a sign of darkness. You no longer have it. You've turned from the darkness. I know it." Bart, not listening to the conversation, laughed and clapped. "Very good, Michael. Let your anger rush through you. Let the darkness control your actions. Let it guide you to strike this pitiful boy, your brother, to oblivion!" Then, he felt a blade held in front of his neck. "Ah, Gastro...your timing is impeccable. But, don't worry. I'll save some fun for you, too." He flipped over Gastro and landed with a thud on the ground. Gastro turned around and said, "Tell me, Bart...what exactly did you do to make Michael turn from darkness so suddenly?" Bart, apparently, puzzled said, "Turned? Don't make me laugh. If he was turned, he wouldn't be fighting Jack." Gastro smirked and said, "No. I sense a change of heart in him. It seems he's fighting the darkness within him." Gastro readied his blade. "Now, I can almost guarantee light will win this battle." Enraged, Bart attacked with his dark blade. He quickly slashed at Gastro, with Gastro blocking it. "What happened, Bart? Why so weak now?" Bart growled in rage and shot a dark blast at Gastro. Just as Gastro was about to be destroyed... ...Del jumped in front of the blast and blocked the blast! "Bart, you've lost. Light prevails again." Mark jumped next to Gastro and said, "This time, you lose, Bart." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~ Michael flew back in recoil and fell on his knees. "I can't lie...you've grown stronger, brother. But...you haven't seen my true strength yet." Jack, puzzled, said, "Huh?" Michael evilly chuckled. "You see, like you, I have potential in my power. Potential that I have not yet fully released." Jack, startled, jumped back and said, "Does that mean...?" Michael then said, "Yes, it means that Bart gave me enough power to defeat in case something like this happened. I never thought I'd have to use it. But, you leave me no other choice, brother. But, don't worry. We'll see each other again. In the next life!" Michael laughed. Michael balled his fists and concentrated his strength. "Darkness; wickedness; torment; greed; rage; sadness; power." Michael looked to the sky. "These are all elements of darkness. Neither wrong nor right. Darkness, hear my plea. I've become one with you. Loyal to you. Now, give me strength to crush those who stand in my way to destroy me!" For a minute, Jack was scared. But, nothing happened. Michael was confused. "What...this can't be. This is exactly what Master Bart told me to say...why isn't it working?!" Jack grinned and said, "Because, Michael; you are no longer a denizen of darkness. You belong to light now. You've felt guilt. Sorrow for what you've done. Sorry for us, not for you. Bart was afraid this would happen. The reason he's weaker is because he gets his strength from his followers' loyalty. You, however, are no longer loyal to him and you were a strong source of power. Now that you're saved from his grasp, he is helpless." Michael fell on his knees. "I can't believe it...he's right. I no longer feel I need to serve Bart. Not Master Bart anymore. Just Bart." Angry, Bart said, "Well, Michael? Finish him!" Michael then remembered something; something from his childhood. Perhaps he remembered the fact that he and Jack used to be close friends as brothers. The playful sword fights they would have with wooden swords. Now... Michael listened to reason. He stood up. "No." Bart, stunned, said, "What did you say to me, servant?" Michael turned to Bart. "I said no. And I'm no longer your servant. I no longer belong to darkness. You used me as a pawn. But, no more." Michael beginned to glow yellow...his black coat disappeared, along with his hood. It revealed brown hair, blue eyes, and a regular face. His garments were a red shirt and brown pants. Enraged, Bart said, "No!!! That's why I'm weaker! He's not loyal to me anymore!" Michael and Jack pointed their blades at Bart. "It's over." Michael was no longer a Dark Bladebearer. He was a Bladebearer of Light. Bart is still alive, though. Will light prevail or will darkness take over? Find out in the next chapter. Last edited by Captain Gas; 04-08-2012 at 12:37 AM.. |
