And is that NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 built in or is it an actual card?

The Nvidia GeForce GT 520 is an actual PCI Express x1 single-length slot card.
Only if the motherboard maker was AMD or Nvidia would this become a chipset embedded onto the motherboard itself.

A PCI Express x16 card will work on x16, 2.0 and 2.1 interfaces. I'm not sure if a PCI Express 2.0 or 2.1 card will work in a PCI Express x16 slot, though.
