would you defend your guild mate no matter what?

just now i was lvling up my staff in Kingshead with my lvl 32 character and had been there for about an hour. i had already gotten one lvl up and was getting very close to another. then a couple of lvl 20 players that were in the same guild came in. to be honest i wasn't happy (i like to lvl up there alone unless it's with guild mates) but i figured maybe they would leave me alone and it would be fine.

i was wrong. the male character ran off behind the fence to lvl grenades. he wasn't affecting me so that wasn't a problem. but the female player started following me around with her cutlass and kept jumping in every time i'd go after a soldier. after about 3 times and then a bit of running around trying to shake her off, i asked her if she could maybe join her guild mate instead. i told her that i had been there for an hour and i was getting really close to another lvl up and i'd like to work alone. she flipped out and told me if i was there for an hour i should leave anyway and that since i was a lvl 32 i didn't need to lvl up anymore anyway. i said "please can't we be civil? i asked nicely" and then she told me to shut up.

then before i know it more and more of her guild mates show up and turns out she's in the same guild as someone on my friends list that i used to sail with a lot. he asked what was wrong and i told him and he defended his guild mate!! i said but you're being illogical?! i asked nicely and she was the one who flipped out on me. they all ganged up on me and absolutely would not leave me alone because they had to "defend their guild mate." they started insulting me about how my guild wasn't defending me and they must "suck" (i just happen to be more of a night owl than them so none of them were online) and how i was being immature for not letting her follow me because i'm a lvl 32 and should help her out. she's not in my guild. didn't even know her! i's not my responsibility to help her out!

is this typical guild behavior? in my guild if one of us were to act like that we'd try to calm them down, NOT blindly defend them simply because they're in our guild. if they continued we'd probably kick them from the guild!! we wouldn't defend them and let them go around doing it again.
