I am sure Disney is going to fix it. The same problem happened last year, they did a update that sorta reset the quest (since quest can't be done twice).
Last year if you could pick up the quest, you could do it again after they did the reset. Soooo today on my new pirate I would use that double XP ASAP and hope they reset the quest for everyone and do it again
