More glitches with the update

Since the update has anyone else lost the ships and islands while sailing? It looked something like this...



Note there's supposed to be a ship off the starboard bow, and there isn't.



What you can't see here is what's impressive. I had only just launched at Port Royal. So you should be seeing Devils Anvil, and maybe Tuga to the bow. Yet it's not there. You can also see even more clearly that the ships just aren't where my compass says they are. If you read the chat, that's me, cause I was being fired on by these invisible ships I could neither see nor hit.

So my question is, has this happened to anyone else? I reported it and D as much as told me it was my problem, saying I should be on DirectX9 graphics settings. (Which I am.) Or that changing servers or logging out would fix it. (Wrong again D, tried both those things before giving up on it.) If anyone else has seen this and reported it, what sort of response did you get?
