Thanks for the reply Captain. MMO's typically do not have the level of individual story development as you are wanting to see. The code stream for that for every single player in the game would be ..... scary. You can get that from a one player console game because all they have to worry about is your character. MMO's have to be designed to handle many more player paths. They can do story archs on say character classes ( we dont' have that here) but again everyone who plays a wizard would follow that path. At some point all those Archs tie back to the main storyline and everyone is basically on the same page again but with different skill sets. Two Player characters interacting and created a questline is still out there I think as far as MMO's.
Grizzly made an excellent point earlier. I don't want this to be like other MMO's. You think you spend a lot of time lvling your weapons here LOL not even close. Imagine spending a week solid just killing monsters to get up a level. I am also glad we don't have to spend hours and hours harvesting ingredients to make our tonics and clothes and such. And thank you no cash shop!! Imagine those with the means buying 4x Rep bonus scrolls and uber weapons and such. These unbalance the play and divide the player base. One of the reasons I love this game is specifically for the lack of all this stuff. I can just get on the game and play!!! I don't have to block my time out and plan where/what I have to fight for the next two hours to advance my character.
The developers have to weigh what to add and what will it add to the game. This is a business and they have to make money. They then try and deliver what the fan base wants based on ease of creation and story progression. They are moving forward and we are getting new stuff to do. I know not everyone enjoys what they are adding. I am sure the new storyline will come in time.
my two cents - Captain Whale
