Noto and weapons lvl increases

This is a long post. Lots of blue-skying. Properly warned ye be, says I.

It occurs to me now, after a 3 or so month hiatus from the game, that I was really short-sighted about the noto/weapons raising matter.

In my mind I've been hoping for extreme increases in Noto and Weapons with the thought that "Well, it's been nearly 2 years in the making...who knows how long it will be before we get more increases".

Bad ukie!!!

I've seen the Noto levels of some land-based enemies increase recently into the 40s, with no changes in weapons types/skills.

Now it occurs to me: What happens if our Noto cap is raised to 45/50 and Weapons cap to 30-35.

With the current set-up? Grinding. Lots and lots of grinding. Exponential grinding compared to what we've done before. And with the existing enemies we've been facing since the game came into existance.

Do I want to be facing nothing but Gen. Darkheart or Neben, etc., or looking at Seabeards' ugly mugs for the unforeseeable future...ad infinitum?

Hmmm....wow....ummm...meh. I'll pass.

Oh sure, there would be Dread, Colossus and Jugg quests thrown in there too, but man! Those don't sound like good times to me.

I go up against all of the above-listed just for training on my non-mastered pirates now.

So I've found myself in a quandry. What DO I want?

I don't know.

Perhaps a new island with never-before-seen enemy inhabitants, all high-level, natch. My only idea for this, based on the fact that the current game content is based (albeit, loosely-see Jolly Roger) on the movie trilogy, would be the Pelegostos (cannibal) island. At this point in time.

Now, if you'll bear with me, and accept the Pelegostos construct, we've arrived at movie 2 with the introduction of the kraken and (perhaps) Davy Jones with his formidable Flying Dutchman? Which might mean Seabeards and their buds could just board your ship at any given time (in uncharted waters only). That would certainly liven up prospects! Captain: "Half of the crew abandon posts and fight the boarding crew while the other half work on the Dutchman! With a will, sailors!"

Of course you'd also have the lively Pelegostos on the island to deal with. The dog's already in the game (in your initial jail environment at the start of a new character) and he could possibly act as an ally.

We know the devs have been working on the kraken. That's a given. Once they get that nailed down, wouldn't they be able to use that as something of a blueprint to create other, less fearsome day-to-day sea beasties and give us a use for that cannon ammo after all?

Of course, in this lark of mine I realize I'm being unrealistic. The only "new" enemy we know the devs have worked on is the Kraken. I've never seen any indication that there have been any other enemies played with by the devs other than the ones in-game.

The jail dog and Davy Jones' crew already exist. The Dutchman, I would think, could be fashioned from existing skel ships without major angst.

So Davy Jones and the Pelegostos would be the major sticking points to my way of thinking.

The Pelegostos' island? I honestly don't know if that's a major deal or not. I would guess the island itself would be one of the least problematic issues.

So - if you've read through all of this...why weren't you playing the game? No really, thanks for sticking with me.

What do I really expect from our next gigundo release? We'll get the kraken, our Noto/weapons/gold caps will be raised slightly and we'll grind it out in anticipation/competition of learning to ace a Kraken battle.

And after that? Well, let's just say the devs not only added the kraken batlle, but eventually got around to new island(s)/enemies. Hmmm...based on the game's track record I'd say we'd be right around the time of release of POTC4 (loosely guessed at a 2012 release at this point), and by golly there'd be a whole new round of adverts to bring in new players to the game and revitalize the franchise. Dev staff would be added and we'd be rolling down that hill on a big water-wheel again, willy-nilly, grinning like idiots and hoping for the best.

Here's hoping for the continued good health and good will of the Disney powers-that-be that support the films and this game, as well as Jerry Bruckheimer, Johnny Depp, Geoffery Rush and anyone else who's pledged their continuing support for this crazy ride. I've read several different reports that POTC4 is the burgeoning beginning of a 2nd trilogy, and Johnny Depp has gone on record numerous times saying he loves the Captain Jack Sparrow role and will gladly play it as long as the scripts are good. He's 46 years old and appears to have a lot of life left in him. Disney appears firmly committed to him, having signed him up for POTC4 and The Lone Ranger.

So where would that leave us? Well, there's always Singapore, new foes, new weapons and fireworks-as-a-weapon to be dealt with. And that malestrom looks like a right bugger. There's no telling after that. Whatever the writers and devs can imagine, says I.

Bring on that game horizon!!!

Now if you're a Disney-raised-adult like me, and/or you stuck it out to the end of this rambling, wishful post, please go kill a biggie in-game for me and thank Uncle Walt for making all these dreams possible.

As long as there are those who can imagine, there are those who will believe.
