I never knew the lyrics about the fella' in the song who was press-ganged into a crew... a fun song about a pretty tough time. Waking up in the service of a ship was not a rarity then.
Getting 'drafted' is long the same lines, as to why tankards often that see-thru glass bottoms in them. |
