I need help

I cannot see my friend we have been trying to find each other for days is it something as simple as were on a different server? Or is there something else that we need to do? We cant invite each other to anything because we cant find each other. Don't get me wrong were not stupid we have gone to places where we both are of course but wherever we try we can find each other

can anyone help????
