Best Skill Selection for Ship Vs Ship Privateering?

Been spending alot of gold trying to figure this one out.

I have tried different variations , with out seeing much difference during battle.

Anyone care to share what they have found to be the best skill arrangement for sail and canon to do the most damage during ship vs ship?

I have seen these light sloops with one gunner take ships down strangely fast!

Can't seem to get that kind of results so far. Hope they aren't cheating!

I have 3 level 40's , two with all mastered weapons. What am i doing wrong?
