Sort of, but I think it was the below deck that they had, without that tower thing, though what you have in mind is due to the floor generally being level.

Seems smart, though it is up there as it also can be a shield and all. As well, one as he/she is on their side can do privateer chat and relay back a new tactic back in crew and all. Still, I think it is relatively fine to do.

And although the Galleon may collect gold faster (though I think I remember a thread started by OFX that said ships with smaller holds get better quality crates or something and that they all essentially got the same loot [them being the War class]), one you get a War Frigate, the most expensive treasure there, you have less need of gold period. As well, the difference needed for the new ship would seem vast again, while it is smaller in the mind if you get the F first.
