I can say that Turbine's other big MMO, Dungeons and Dragons Online, went F2P and that pretty much gives you the full game through download, though there are quests and such only available by purchase. As to your second q, it was about four months from when I submitted until I received the Beta key.

Thanks for the answers! So, you can't tell me whether I have to buy something such as "The Lord Of The Rings Online Mines Of Moria" or "Siege Of Mirkwood"? If you can't, that's fine. In the game as of now (the live game that you have to pay) does the free download include "Shadows Of Angmar"?
