Hi Dueces... I was browsing your pages and you seem to be a fun loving guild with an active membership (congrats), similar to the guild I am currently in. I was hoping you might answer a couple of questions. We have been trying to setup some friendly guild v. guild extra curriculars like ship to ship pvp, but slowed down by things in the game like no mail boxes etc. This forum seems like a great way to do just that. I would like to mention this forum to my guild members, but am concerned doing so is a violation of the usage agreement. Any idea if it is, and if so how to get around it. Also, would your guild be interested in some type of friendly guild v. guild activities.

I mention the forums here regularly on POTCO, in the following manner (what i say):

Search for Pirates online forums

I dont think they mind as its not a web address, and put the intiative on those listening to go and find it. Plus, it comes up first in the search engines every time you try it.

The "guild vs guild" thing isn't quite our style, but if individuals from the guild want to participate, go for it. Just know you're not representing the entirerty of Dueces if you do

As for directing people to POF, I've never had a problem with saying "pirates on line forums" in game. I've gone as far to say, "you can find us at pirates on line forums, we're a sub forum under dueces wild"...all good so far. Before you direct people to pof, you may want to set up a thread in the general guild section (not here in the Dueces section) with what you're looking to do.

Thanks for the thoughtsZep and Sarah, I'll give them a try. Sarah that is exactly the direction I was going (setting up our own thread outside of yours) but wanted to dot "i"s and "t"s first.

Sorry if I ruffled any feathers with the guild v. guild piece, that was not my intent, just looking for a bit more fun...and I can respect your guild's position.

Reaver if it is not going to cause any issues with you, your guild or GM, that would be great, maybe we can set up "groups" rather than guild. I' PM you once I get things together on my end.

Hey thats only during meetings (im a party game WOOO lol) and when i want to look innocent so i can PvP someone if all i did was sleep i wouldn't have gained 37 levels in a month hehehe

I have brought up Guild vs. Guild before to the others in Dueces. Some members are willing, but most aren't interested. Most of our pirates really aren't into PvP or SvS because of: A) It's too easy to glitch and cheat there, and B) there is no rep to be earned.

Some of our members enjoy it, and are willing to do it, but since we have a guild activity every week anyway, it gets busy!

My recommendation is to post a thread under General Game Talk, and see what sort of response you will get. Also, Chris from Partners in Crime has a posting in the Clan Leader discussion forum about wanting to hav ea game calle d Guild Wars,, kinda like a Survivor theme, but again, the majority of Dueces wasn't too enthusiastic, so we didnt get involved.
