Well at first you can only throw them but later on you unlock a skill called Long Volley which allows you to through them farther.

Check out this thread, a wealth of information:
http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/f...ead.php?t=4569 Although my least favorite weapon, grenades can come in very handy taking out enemies on a flag ship if you don't have Staff yet. Damages everyone around you (including yourself if you're not careful with aim) and you can move and throw at the same time. |

Make sure the enemy is right in front of you. Then you need to back up and throw the grenades at the enemy. When you get to lvl 4 as Chris said you unlock long volley which allows you to throw your granades farther. At lvl 10 you unlock demolitions which increases the area of effect of your attack. This will make it easier to hit enemies.

as a general rule of thumb, by aiming down the grenades will land closer to your feet (actually if you aim down far enough the blast won't hit you for some reason). and the higher you aim the furthur away from you the grenade will land.
while this defies the laws of physics (aim too high and the grenade should land on your head), it's something to take advantage of both before and after you learn long volley. if you've played games like gunbound or arcanists you'll get the hang of this relativly easily |

Go to Kingshead and party it up! If you don't find rapidly leveling and expanding your health via a fun weapon fun (in which case said weapon is arguably not fun), then you will find that rapidly leveling and expanding your wealth via a fun weapon is.
But said party requires said skill, Long Volley. Go to Cuba and destroy the plantlife there, which, being plantlife, can't move. That will suffice to Level 4, at which point the dedication of one point will change the whole dynamic of the weapon. They're very powerful, and you can be quite mobile with all of them other than the Siege Charge, which is more than powerful enough to make up for this. They're my favorite weapon: I had so great times with them that I'm getting riled up talking about it: I wrote this post in like a minute! |

Same as Take Aim in theory, different in slight. You basicly always throw the same with Throw, so you just click or press control. With Long Volley, you hold down the left mouse button or control to build up strength. You hold down the right to change anglature of the camera, which has its effects on aiming too. It's easy enough to get the hang of.

I never really cared of grenades, I always say, "I'm doing nades last!"
But one weekend of double rep... I got from about 14 to 18 in two days! You gotta do the nades on double rep weekends! |

Grenades are good for their passive skills (benefiting sailing, cannoneering, etc.)
Grenades are good for giving you more notoriety points. Grenades are good for giving you more health points (and voodoo points?) Grenades are good for teaching you how to wall glitch in every room, every scene in the game.

It seems grenade got no luv here...
Grenade is the most devastating weapon in the game, a maxxed seige charge takes off 2000+ damages on even highest leveled enemies. It is also a great weapon for the newly revamped PvP system. I took down a charging group of level 40s with grenades before they even get close to me with their cutlasses. |

Grenades are good for getting a large group of enemies, but are a pain in the rear to level up though. I usually never use em

Nades is the toughest weapon to lvl up and tougher it gets as your noteriety gets higher. I would recommend to lvl up nades up fast and take advantage of the double-reputation events. This is the only weapon I still have to master (currently at lvl 23)...I dont use it that much, but mastering all weapons is a mission to accomplish.
