I think Monty Python already made a movie about that.

I've heard plenty of rumors about the next movie. I think that it's tentatively slated for sometime around 2011 or 2012. No William and Elizabeth, as their story has been wrapped. The main focus will be on Jack and Barbossa (supposedly). And yes, the Fountain of Youth is involved, but that will not be the main plot of the movie. However, I am not saying that this is definitive information, just what I have read. Scripts go through countless rewrites, so anything is possible.

i would think in POTC 4 they would have Elizabeth and Will"s son in the movie. I mean why elsle would they show him at the very end of the third pirates if he wont be in future movies.

Yup, just like in the first two movies. You have to wait until after the credits and then there's a very short scene that we're shown.

Ill be darned, i've watched that movie several times. Never watched through the credits till now.

Sure nuff, they show a scene with Elizabeth, and Will Jr walking to the sea 10 years later to meet dad/Will Sr sailing in for his on land visit after 10 years.

Both the actors playing parts of Elizabeth and Will are reported to have indicated they have no intentions of doing another POTC movie. We'll see. seems like they were leading into something.

After having seen the scene.. lol
With Elizabeth and Will's son meeting Will returning after ten years, I have come to the conclusion, the purpose of this was not at all to lead on to a possible future movie story line, but to actually "close" the story of Elizabeth and Will (actors who have made it clear the do not wish to do any more POTC movies).

Having seen it, we no longer wonder what happened to them. Every 10 years Will returns home to see his family, and he is doing the job he was given (hence he isnt turning into squidface like Davy Jones did). This job of tending to souls of those dieing at sea, does not give him the luxury of sailing around the seas wreaking havoc and terror (as Davy Jones did) or any other deeds, even if they are good. In reality the Elizabeth & Will Turner story is now closed!

After all who ever heard of "Will Turner on the Flying Dutchman"... I dont see any reason to pursue that story line.

I took that as being an inside joke between the president and Cage, and didnt see that as a lead in to another movie. But they definately do that stuff. I guess we'll know when/if NT3 comes out.. hehe

Sequels usually make money. They already have alot of the stuff in place, so they tend to be easier to make and make more money (unless they bomb).

Look: I don't think there'll be Will's son in the next film (if there is one, which there probably will be). And in addition, there's enough stuff set in place for a new one, Johnny Depp's all for it, Keira and Orlando don't want to do it - and that's great, Will and Elizabeth's story has been put in a way where it can either be done or not done - we have a new story we can lead into, we have an enemy - and more additional enemies (PotC: AWE video game showed Black Bart), and much more, enough to make a 4th movie - and possibly a 5th...

I'm in love with the franchise, so I don't really care how many more they make - one, two, a hundred... but my one thing is that it HAS to have Jack in it, and only Johnny can play Jack. Otherwise it's going to suck. Seriously.
