Wink Improvements to the game!

I had recently lost five of my friends from the game due to what they called "A not so good game."

I asked them what was wrong with the game. This being my first MMO that I have played I wasn't sure what the problems were. My friends showed me things they can do in games such as World of War Craft and City of Heros. I have also played a bit of Pirates of the Burning Seas and I have realized what they mean by this being a "not so good game."

They complain a lot about the graphics I personally do not care that much about making things look great. However after speaking with them I realize where they come from, Characters like Jolly Roger and Jack Sparrow look awesome but my character looks eh comparatively. I do not think this means the Graphics need to be changed but more of a unique feel to each pirate making them more rugged I guess less cartoony? That's just my opinion on the matter of what they think on that. They also do not understand how this game requires so much more to play it and a game such as World of War Craft that has more detailing better graphics can require so much less. That being said this might help the team figure out a better way to make the game not so huge and require less I know it would be much better to let's say allow a video card play the game over a graphics card. For example most college students have laptops that can not play games due to graphics cards lap tops don't come with. However most MMO's use video cards so they can bypass that. Such as Pirates of the Burning Seas.

Now that is my suggestion for my friends the other things that bothered them somewhat bother me but I live with it because I like the game. However I came up with an idea to make the game much more enjoyable while questing. I get tired of doing the same thing over and over, by that I mean.

"Go get crab legs"
"Go get crab claws."
"Sink a ship or two."
"Kill a wasp"

When you look at the big picture it is always the same, so how does one go about fixing such a thing such as this? I was thinking instead of having to go get crab legs why not get the legs of a "Killer Crab" or a named crab for the sense of my idea we give it the name "Godzilla!" The idea is this type of crab is a boss, only found during that quest. Essentially putting in boss battles more often. It would also make it easier for people to crew each other. Having to kill bosses is never an easy thing and normally takes a few people to help. This would somewhat "force" the friendly come help me have fun. When you have to capture a Captain how bout boarding the ship and having to fight him. His life bar goes down and when it does he falls to his knees and you then you can get the information from him then maroon him. Something like that. Its knew it keeps the questing fresh and more fun. Because killing crabs and other enemies like that for each quest for forty levels gets boring. It's the same thing there's no reason to keep playing other then I want to see the end. (For most people that is not enough)

The last thing is the lag. Now for me it doesn't lag unless I am in an area where there are way to many people or I've been playing for three hours straight and the game is starting to lag up. Now one of my friend suggests fixing the servers up which will help but also I would love to see more area's. I do not mean more islands. Like for instance Cuba, there is a port then Tia Dalma's swap and we are all set. Well why can't we go to other parts of a much larger island? Why can't I walk along the whole shore around the whole island? Pirates explored around looking for valuable things. There isn't enough in the Caribbean to explore. I feel very lonely in this Caribbean. There are so many islands and I feel like I have just found a nice little area that happens to be active with ships and that's about it. Granted I believe it'd be nice to see Isle Crueses, Isle De Muerta, Isle Pentogostas, Turkish Prison, Shipwreck Cove and Singapore. Sure more islands would be awesome as well however I think each island should be more then several area's you can walk around. Port Royal is huge Tortuga is Huge why do we explore 10% of the jungle and then a cave. This also goes into hand with my questing. The layout of how the jungle and caves end up are similar on each island. One area may not have a cave they may have a swamp area lead into a jungle and the other island with the same lay out might go jungle then cave yet it's all the same. You find the same enemies that don't give much experience when you reach my level which I am at lvl 28. As long as there is more to look around and explore something to explore not such set paths it would make the game more worth playing when your board explore there is so much on each island. That sort of an idea works in every game not just MMO's games like Morrowind and Oblivion. With those two games you fight a lot of the same thing but there is always something new to look for and explore on each land mass that it makes it takes away the repetitiveness of the games.

I have one thing to say to back me up on all of this aside from five people dropping the game because of this. I have been a member since November if not October when the Beta fully started. I have been a member before live. I am one to have a founders title. I love the game it's so much fun but other MMO's when I look at it they give the players so much more to do. If this game did the same thing it would bring in more of a crowed to play also. I think a bigger crowed would help out with the game and the money it makes for fixing problems as well. I just wanted to let everyone know where I come from so they know I'm not some new kid coming in from out of nowhere saying this is what should be done.

I guess overall the idea I am trying to get a cross is the game is repetitive with everything. With the look of characters that are not major characters from the movies, with the look of towns and the lay out of the islands and last but not least and the major one the quests. For example I don't use my credit card to play because of those things so I buy a game card ever so often to finish up the game. I guess the only other suggestion I would say is put in new story archs to expand the game more at a later date with new levels weapons and other such things.

I hope this gets read and looked at with the knowledge that I seriously want to help this game become so much more awesome then it already is.

P.S. I think I forgot to mention that the getting crab claws is fine for like the first ten levels or so while you are learning the basics of the game but after that it should advance to harder quests and that's where you'd involve the Bosses.

Fairwinds to ye!

Forget new islands and enemies for a second. The game is too repetitive for example your level 15 and it's hard for you to find enemies around your level which is true I remember that as well. I remember between levels 13-20 I seriously had to quest my butt off in order to make enough notoriety points to make up for the lack of enemies with in my level range.

Right after I posted this I looked at a few other threads and signed off to play the game. The first quest I got at level 28 was to take on some level 12 plus skeletons. There was also a quest the night before that I had to take on 15 Cadets for their canteens of water or something along those lines. Cadets are levels 1-5 roughly. WHY at level 28 am I getting a quest that sends me after enemies that give me absolutely nothing. 10 gold doesn't make up for it. I should be sent on a quest that will send me into an area of an island I've never ventured to before because before this time the enemies were to strong for me to GET there.

In other words for example let's just use the very little adventuring area there is on Tortuga for an example. We will start in the jungle area where the scorpions are. At level 1-5 you should be sent to get something from there on a quest because everything is in a decent level range for you. Then when you are like 5-10 you are sent into the thieves den where the enemies should be levels 5-10 as well! The deeper you go in your explorations the more dangerous the enemies should be.

With that being said Tortuga has the graveyard, the swamp area, the jungle and the cave NOT ENOUGH. You should have a shore line area around the island much more jungle space along with another cave or so. These other caves could even some how if you go deep enough connect to each other. However like I've said in order to find such a connection you'd have to be like level 30 because the enemies would be hard. This could even make for new enemies bosses to fight to make the game much more enjoyable.

Seriously for a child or a kid this game is amazing, but not all the players in fact most of the players are of the age where they want some substance to their game. The more substance you give to the game the more fun it will be.

Sure changing outfits is grand and all that but I'm still fighting the same stuff, I'm still getting the same stuff for fighting. Elizabeth sends me on a quest for the nine rouges and when I get all 9 there's no like after quest completion? Why can't I bring them to her? It lacks substance and that's it and it's not that hard to put in substance. Even if it's the same exact thing we are doing now it's not hard to make it SEEM like you are changing the game and giving substance to it.

yea I can agree with that, however a MMO RPG needs more to it. Like okay I agree they aren't just a gaming company but at the same time they have the game developers who work on this game. If the game creators were all making movies. shows, games and shirts and stuff then I'd give it to them. Still most of the game developers can still add the new things that the game is lacking.

Like even Blizzard with world of war craft makes other games, Diablo III is coming out, Star Craft 2 is coming out. They make other games and World of War Craft still advances at a much faster rate then this game. So I agree the game is still knew but that doesn't mean that it's okay if they are going to make a game they need to also keep an eye on it you know?

also, why not have a large island that the DOminican Republc and Hati are on now, Tortuga is just north of that and if you look at a map, tortuga is nothing compared to that island

Port Royal is also not an Island I believe it is apart of one of the larger islands if I remember correctly.

However historically I don't care if they leave some islands out because the Caribbean in the movies is different then our own even if it's hardly shown. Mainly I just want the repetitiveness to end. It makes the game so boring after a while doing the same thing that it's not worth the money or worth playing sure I get to be a pirate and sink ships but doing the same thing over and over is only fun for so long. A friend of mine put it great.

"The first two weeks I played that game it was so much fun. I was so happy when I got my Galleon, but it gets old fast."

Yup. Either way I don't mind the places being somewhat different is fine.

I just don't want to always go on the same quests that's my main point. Like I made a mention of graphics but graphics get modified over time always anyway. The quests or at least the same thing over and over needs some more you know something. It's missing something that's what I mean it's missing the epicness of a quest. Like if it's the same thing it's not fun, but we are building our own pirate legends GIVE us something to build a legend you know?
