Even in the trailer Jack says "Why should I trust any of you.You've all tried to kill me ,and one of you succeeded." or something like that.

Why would he fully die if they have made a Pirates 3? They can't kill the star of the show!

I think a sort of spell will be bringing him back, not sure how though, but that's the Disney magic isn't it?

I agree, he did die by being eaten by the Kraken, but is brought back from Davy Jones' Locker.

iShadow and I are correct but I just confrimed something with a couple of keith Richards Pirates 3 shots... Jack's dad isn't in the locker. Sorry 'bout that.

And P.S. This is sort of a silly topic. I mean now that the trailer has been out for almost a week and all.

At the end of the credits (POTC:COTBP) , toontown4ever,
Jack the monkey takes a piece of Aztec gold out of the chest.
This is why he is immortal in POTC: DMC. But no, Pinkdust,
this would not make Captain Jack immortal since he himself
did not take it out of the chest.

He probably did die and he obviously was brought back. But here's something I've been thinking of:

Did Jack owe his soul(or something like that. Sorry haven't seen the movie in a while) to Davy Jones in POTC2? So if the Kraken killed him and he joined Davy Jones' crew and then they got him back... wouldn't Davy Jones have to leave them alone? Because Jack held up his part of the deal.

In POTC3 I think the only reason why Davy Jones would be against Jack would be because the British have his heart.

Yeah he did owe his soul to Davy. But in the end,
when Captain Jack got eaten by the Kraken,
Davy said "Now Jack's debt is repaid." or something
along the lines of that. Those words lifted the Black
Spot & hunt by the Kraken. Also, when the Kraken
killed Captain Jack, his soul was taken by the sea
[Davy=sea]. So yeah, they are squared.

Personally, I think this is a sort of a dumb topic and should be closed. We all know that Jack went to Davey Jones Locker after he died and that his crew and friends save him. End of story. I really wish that a MOD would close this topic.

Jack SParrow did die.
I read the At World's End book and in it Lord Beckett was talking to Davy Jones telling him that he thought he learned when Beckett ordered him to kill his pet.
Plus why would Jack be in Davy Jones locker if he didn't die.
Jones' locker is just a place where people go when they die at sea.
Davy Jones is supposed to ferry them to the other side but stopped because Calypso betrayed him.
Another theory I have is that Jack was transported there by the kraken in its belly.
