Upgrade or wait?

So I've been saving a considerable amount of gold to buy the upgraded weapons but I'm wondering if I should just wait for the new weapons quests that are coming out. What does everyone think?

hmm id upgrade sorta bc some big update is coming in summer of 08 but knowing potco and di$ney when they say summer they mean literally the last day of summer aka. september 31st 2008 @_@

i'd wait as theres no real "hinderance" from using the default weapons (aside from the luxury of the triple barrel pistol maybe) or even mastering them at their defaults.

i seem to do just as much damage as my friends do, with their fancy swords, and me with my poor ole rusty one, but hey i get more compliments

i would seriously wait because the game is at a stand still, the first story chapter was pretty lame and the boss battle wasn't worth the wait. the claim of a "big" update this summer is most likely another delayed future plan, like the crew kit's and the maps look how long we wanted for that. new weapon upgrade's are on the "internal" test server only and have been for too long, once they are uploaded to the public test server we are gonna need a few weeks to test for bugs which i'd say will throw us pretty close to summer right? maybe i'm the only one not seeing enough time for a "big" update to be correctly tested and released, and i'm very sure this big update will not be released by summer. that being said i'd save your money for a while or do as many of us are and find a new game with much better support.

That basically says, 1st chaper is lame, and the boss battle was a letdown and you think it will come out after summer.
And your advice is to find another game with better support.

Mmkay, thats good advice.

Personally, It depends on your play style, the points (given from higher level weapons) don't give you much more damage overall. And theres no real point in having a massive stockpile of gold if you need other things.

Personally I'd make sure I have my pistol as high as possible if you use it much.
Make sure I have the best ship I can sail, and enough for the next one up if your looking for an upgrade.

Then sink your money into whatever else you want. The only real things you need to spend cash on to see a decent return is the Pistols and Ships, the rest of the items do about as much as taking your shoes off in the scheme of things.

Mmkay, thats good advice.

advice was asked for so i gave my best.... but the question asked now after reading your post was dirrected toward in game gold? as many "should i upgrade" post's that i've saw it's easy to confuse... if that be the question then as posted above aside from the triple barrel most the other upgrade's are not worth the gold, save it for a ship trust me you will be glad you did once you finish the quest's.

My guess is, knowing Disney, you will have to have the upgraded weapons to continue on to get the new quest weapons.

i'd upgrade because who knows how long it will take for them to update.
