Seeing that Live Chat is no longer around, try getting their official response in writing through their email form. Ask them what the current status of this is. It's been 8 months since you heard about it so it would be nice if you can find that out.
As some of us long time testers have known, not too many are there. Both servers are usually quiet [just like this Helm]. They usually become Ideal when something new is released. And since that doesn't happen so often, new testers aren't really needed.
Granted, there are people who signed up years ago and have yet to receive any updates on whether they've been approved or not. Most just assume that they're on the waiting list. So what exactly is this automated system going to do? What exactly are they revealing by implementing one? Uhm, we last track so we'll let the computer sort it out and send a more timely response?
Do all these long time, dedicated, paying players have to sign up again? If true, a newcomer can waltz in while the old timer has to wait all over again. Are they planning to clean house too and remove all inactive test accounts with their automated system? I'm sure there are dead test pirate accounts that need to be removed. Would it be like some games have it whereby every 30 days the account is automatically deleted? Players are warned 5 days before the action is taken to log in while they can, or lose access? I support that measure.
Having test access is a privilege you earned and continue to earn by helping POTCO see certain problems as well as solutions like they do. Unlike them, testers readily think outside the box since they are not employed by Disney and thus have more liberties to spend a lot of time testing/ playing this game. POTCO needs those kinds of testers who regularly provide valuable feedback. An automated system wouldn't know the difference unless someone programs to tally the difference between good feedback versus bad feedback. Then it could decide if that tester deserves to stay as one.
So basically the point I'm raising is: Is POTCO creating an automated system to only approve who can have test access, or is POTCO going to have an automated system to approve and reject who has access? That's something worth finding out, don't you think?
