Strange Problem and at a loss on what to do...
Okay, so I got this new computer with vista, and it works GREAT with pirates, except for one thing. Every time I try to sail, I get a message that says pirates stopped working and i have to log in again. I know this isn't my computer, and don't know what to do. That, and I really don't want to have to live in Tortuge for the rest of my pillaging and plundering life.

Oh its your computer - its your Graphics card. Switching from Land to Sea is the issue (several including myself have had the issue) and all appear to be almost always ATI cards (in fact many were HD 2xxx cards??) and Disney has no answer for you... sorry.
I had to switch to my OLDER card to get to the ocean (its a shame - having a 512MB hi performance card and now using an older 256 card - tisk tisk). I tried it all - unstalled / reinstalled / upgraded / downgraded drivers - then did a fresh install of the ENTIRE OS and tried it all again... nada. If you have better luck though - let us know - many would like to hear a sucess story... |

http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/f...ead.php?t=3968 The changes to the file have fixed my ATI 2600 HD 512MB card after 5 monuths of not being able to use it for POTCO *relief!!!!* Noticed there though someone had to change Internst Modem as well - may want to see that... |

could be the ATI card, but i'd guess your problem is simply vista. when i got my new pc vista the cursed OS was loaded on it and is complete junk, reformatted to xp and haven't had another problem.

U can also try going into the POTCO file folder, and change the 3 .txt files (game_options.txt...etc..). All you need to change is under the word "API" it should say default. change it to pandadx9 on each .txt file. so it should look like this:
