Leaderboards are Still broken
We of Wrong Trousers applaud all guilds and pirates for their exploits and achievements, but also needs must point out the official Leaderboards on the POTCO Community website are still broken and not up to date nor accurate.
Recent messages twixt meself and the good mods/devs at POTCO: >> Date: Feb 03, 2011 - 01:42 PM Comments or Questions : I notice the Leaderbaords are still broken. On July 14, 2010, I recorded my stats thus: Enemies defeated 77528 and ships 14422. Those were the same stats from a year earlier. Today I note these: Enemies 79535, ships 14567. Considering I placed 19th in the last Defeat the Most Enemies Competition, not to mention day to day play, it is obvious the Leaderboards are still inaccurate and not up to date. Any idea on if or when this will all be fixed? Thanks! Fri, Feb 4, 2011 5:11 pm Hi there, Thank you for writing to us. The leaderboards have been a great way for our Pirates to show their skill and prowess in defeating enemies and ships. While the Leaderboards had been under repair many game stats had not been able to update. While this may impact the numbers you see reflected on the boards, all enemies defeated from now on will be recorded accurately. Please understand that we have a very large community of members with a large amount of data that is constantly being collected, interpreted, and then presented for each member for display on the Leaderboards. We apologize for any frustration this has caused you and, thank you again for your concern and feedback. Do not hesitate to contact me again. Should wish for further details, our Live Chat team may be able to provide better insight to what the boards are reflecting for your Pirate. Best wishes, Randy Pirates of the Caribbean Online Member Services Fri, Feb 4, 2011 5:53 pm Thank you very much for the quick reply. I do indeed understand something like the Leaderboards is quite a task, but I hope you will reciprocate and understand that as a Founder, to see one's stats not reflecting what has been accomplished for over 3 years is incredibly disappointing. Especially when one looks at fellow Founders and friends known since the beginning, and their stats are obviously up to date. Then again, as another example I will also point out one friend of mine who has not played for at least a year, is still listed above me in stats, and said higher stats were only by a handful of numbers 2 years ago. I also have a Guild (among the oldest still active in the Game) which cannot use the Leaderboards to "brag" or recruit new members simply because the numbers are far below what they truthfully should be, and thus people do not believe what we try to say. May I ask this: Infamy is now going to be introduced, but what has been accomplished by your original unlimited players and not acknowledged is put on a back burner? One might also question how well Infamy will be kept track of in comparison. I can only quite Captain Jack Sparrow: "I love those moments. I wave to them as they pass by." Please do not let us "pass by". << We can only hope, fellow Trousers. Addendum: >>21-Nov-09 07:28pm POTCO Skeleton Slayer Contest "...Now Jolly's armies are weakened, maybe we'll have a fighting chance of defeating them in the next wave of invasions! Fight on brave Pirates... here's the rest of those who excelled at skeleton slaying! Name ~~~~~~~~~ Kills 19. Ben Whalebutler ~~ 14433 << The numbers for over 2 and a half years do NOT tally. What do I then offer other than criticism? Either; 1. fix the boards, or 2. completely remove them.
