And Pirates of the Caribbean apparently also happens in the Mediterranean and South East China Sea, so I don't get your point. A LOT of people want to get involved with Davy Jones, the Navy and EITC. Working for them, and things like character classes (totally different from what you think: it means choosing to be a Mage, Pirate, Merchant, etc.) would enhance the game further and provide loads of potentiality for unused realms of game play here. Choosing sides, betraying one another, hunting down others.. there's lots there. The name "Pirates of the Caribbean Online" would only suggest that the events of the game occur in the world developed in Pirates of the Caribbean, and not necessarily that all players should be pirates.

Also I thought it was a video where I heard about the pets but it's just writing. If you go on the main site and down to where it says "About the Game". Select " A Day In The Life". If you go to the second page it has about pets and so forth being added into the game. |

yet they advirtised "become a pirate and live the legend" something along that manner, yes i see what you mean midhav, then the game would basicly become one big pvp match anywhere and everywhere. POBS or pirates of the burning sea used that system wasn't the greatest had many faults. such as if one of ur friends chose a different thinkg then you, you couldn't friend them i have played the game so i know

Also, backgrounds might be good. Like being a former Navy officer, or an old EITC assassin, or being a voodoo witchdoctor. But allegiances? No, the game has enough player conflict already. POBS was in depth, but I doubt Panda3D could handle "in depth".

I like the idea of buying guild/pirate lairs. No other people can come on it without being attacked buy something of your choosing unless they are allowed or can defeat if. That would be awesome!!!

metal, you seem to be giving a bunch of if situations.
You do realize if we went to work for the navy, eitc, and davy jones, it's not like we're there for life? Of course Disney doesn't want us to work for them full time, but what's not to say do a few quests for them, join on their ships, and take out pirate ships in special areas, where there are NPC pirate ships? You're forgetting to take into account what Disney can do. They could make special davy jones crew battles areas for us where pirates are warned not to enter, and if they do, can be sunk by players that joined davy jones. Pirates could enter the area, but couldn't damage the NPC pirate ships placed there specifically for players joining davy jones to sink. Disney already told us in an old player Q and A that we'd never get to make a navy, EITC, skeleton, or davy jones player, but who's to say we can't go work for them for a bit? Like work for the EITC, and then when we betray them, they give us the P tat. for pirate? There are a lot of things Disney can do with this idea. |

one big pvp match thats what i hated bout POBS u could get sunk pretty quick if u were low and weak.
so what would you get out of switching sides for a bit? a pat on the back from the capt on the ship? gold? yes you can do a lot of with this, i'm saying it would ruin the game play were supposed to be fighting them, not joining them |

They could make areas where NPC pirate ships can be fought by people fighting for the Navy, EITC, Davy Jones, or Jolly Roger. Who said we would have to fight each other? Disney is creative, and when working for the enemy, they can come up with something that will make people happy. We don't have to fight each other in a situation like this. It's called, NPC pirates. That's not very hard to do... |

It could be that Mac, or one big PvP match, which frankly I'm a fan of. If they made it free for all for everyone to choose sides, then there would be complete disunity, chaos and anarchy throughout the game (well that actually sounds realistic), but to prevent this from happening maybe they can allow guilds only to choose their sides. If I'm the GM of a guild, and I prefer the side of Jolly Roger, then all my members become followers of the Undead lord. This actually sounds a bit complicated but there is also an alternative to this.
Maybe it would just be working for them part time, like during the 2nd story chapter, or they themselves can assign minor quests from time to time for all those who chose the specified allegiance. Or it also could be something like joining the Casa de Muertos guild? Or joining them in adventures against other pirates? (taking into account a possibility that wild islands can have crew v.s crew PvP ability). There are loads of possibilities but we'll just have to wait and see what PotCo has coming for us all. |

i can tell you that not a lot of people like pvp, would hate the idea of walking outside and getting shot, but ya they do what ever they wanted but this would take a lot of time
