We cant kill Jolly Roger
Ugh! Come on Kraken Guard, of all the names for a topic, why did you have to settle with that one? Well, im going to be earning alot of You-Traitor-Your-In-League-With-Jolly-Roger Points, but im willing to stick up for him because he's one of my favorite characters from Pirates of the Caribbean, second only to Davy Jones himself and he is one of the Disney Villains, just like Maleficent, Jafar and the Horned King before him (You wouldn't know the Horned King unless you've seen the Black Cauldron.. Not a populer Disney movie.) so i dont see why everybody hates him. Admit it, Jolly Roger has to have fans somewhere, right?
![]() But anyways, more to the point.. Sure, we've got another Pirates movie coming out (Honestly, im not that interested it in..) but think about it: If we do kill Jolly Roger, what next? Yeah, i know we haven't had another story chapter in goodness knows how long, but the killing of Jolly Roger would most likely prevent future story chapters. You cant have a Pirates of the Caribbean Online without Jolly Roger. The villain dies, and the story ends. Yeah, Disney was able to make sequels with all new villains (Zira from the Lion King II, Maestro Forte from Beauty and the Beast: Enchanted Christmas, Sa'Luk from Aladdin and the King of Thieves, Morgana from The Little Mermaid II, McLeach from The Rescuers Down Under, And of course, Davy Jones) Mind you, I do like some of the sequels, but i know that alot of people say that they never should have made those sequels in the first place. Do we come up with another villain that will replace Jolly Roger(Ezekiel, Perhaps?)? It's not going to be the same.. Even if we come up with another villain, defeat would eventually come too them. Killing Jolly Roger would also mean no more Invasions and no more Muertos Moon(Therefore, No more Zombie Dance) There is, of course, The alternate scenario such as defeating Jolly Roger, but not killing him. He may be close to death (He's already dead.. ) but we may decided not to kill him (Pirate gone soft.. Me!) or he is simply captured, but eventually finds some way of escape and lives to bring forth more Invasions and to make Halloween fun. Or Disney decides to give us the chance to join him because as i've said: What is the sense of roleplaying if you cant decide who your going to side with? Or perhaps some other crazy twist of fate that i cant think of at the moment.. (Besides, letting Jolly Roger live could mean we could write our own stories of what would become of him! )Ah well, i've said enough. Simply following my Villain Fan Insticts and i wanted to get it out of the way because i haven't seen any mentionings of it.. The Kraken Guard always was considered to be one of the oddest to sail the Caribbean, or Curiosity killed the Kraken Guard.. |

I agree, we can't kill Jolly Roger, as it wouldn't be good for the story in this game. They could just have us eventually defeat Jolly (something that should happen), and have him disappear for a while (to make us believe he's gone for good). In that time they could try to have Davy Jones and the Kraken come in (to please those that constantly mention wanting them). Eventually that could lead to Jolly (who never really died) returning, allowing us to choose what side we want to be on, or continue on whatever path the game makes us go.
I doubt anything close to that would happen.. but it would be interesting. This may be off topic but, if/when we have to defeat Jolly Roger, I really hope that it's actually challenging, unlike Jolly Roger in an invasion. |

A epic, super invasion where you controlled a army of pirates and it looks like a REAL battle. That, would be awesome!

I'm get a bit enthralled by a good villain. Especially a villain that doesn't blunder about, like they do in movies these days, but is to be respected. Hated and feared, but respected. I loved the Horned King! Along with Malificent, he was probably one of Disney's most intriguing bad-guys. More to the point, I agree completely. We can't just kill him off (So to speak). My thoughts are we beat him, and he's moved to a new island, demoted and stripped of most of his power. This would mean you could go with your friends and beat him again and again, only to have him return to power. Let's face it. He's connected to that ol' Voodoo energy which runs through the Caribbean. He can't be killed. Deprived of physical form, certainly, but killed? |

I was under the impression that at the successful invasions he said something like "I will return" or something.

I agree, KILLING Jolly? Well thats just bad story telling. Thats like killing off the enemy of the hero in a TV show, and then having episodes where the plot is still mainly revolving around the hero and the enemy. Disney is usually creative with storytelling (Sometimes a little too creative...) and would probably avoid this at all costs. The game revolves around Jolly, so I highly doubt he will ever be killed off.
