There are far too many to list mate! Go to the public libary and do a search. You will find a bunch of stuff to keep ye busy mate!
Here are a few of my favorites! Movies: Sea Hawk (black and white) Treasure Island Against All Flags Captain Blood Master and Commander I have read so many Non-fiction books on pirates I can not remember them all. I am about to read On Stranger Tides By Tim Powers. Rumor has it that the new POTC movie is losely based on this book. Good luck mate! I will post more if I remember them!

Yes, Master and Commander is epic. Not exactly a pirate movie I guess, but very good nontheless. Make sure you've read the book Treasure Island too!

The Pirate Hunter by Richard Zacks is about William Kidd (wonder why I like that one LOL) its a good read about a real pirate.
Batavia's Graveyard by Mike Dash- not pirates but its has the dutch east india company and a nasty mutiny and once again true. The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samual Taylor Coleridge- its a 13 page poem and the only one I like LOL about a sea Capt. who upset the powers that be.( this you can find online if you want to check it out without checking it out ) I too will post more if I remember |

The Bloody Jack series by L.A. Meyer is great.
Dewie Lambdin's Allan Lewrie series is great too - more Hornblower-esque than strictly piratey but good stuff. |

For some of our younger readers there is a three book series about Peter Pan and Capt. Hook. The first book is called Peter and the Starcatchers, the second is Peter and the Shadow Thieves, and I can't remember the name of the third. Good books for pre-teens and young teens.

Those are awesome on CD. Jim Dale (narrator from the show Pushing Daisies) reads them. We listened to them in the car on long trips.

The New World with Colin Farrell is also a very nice movie and reminds me a little bit at the game The Settlers Online. But hardly any movie can be better than Pirates of the Caribbean

Peter and the Starcatchers series is pretty good. I liked it, even though it is a bit of a younger reading for me. Lots of action and fighting and of course, Mr. Grin. Treasure Island is also a great book. Probably the origin of a lot of pirate tales. Its a classic.
