Release Notes - January 18 2008

• Fixed the bug causing braids to be missing on female pirates wearing a bandana.
• Fixed the bug that was causing players' ships to show up twice in the dinghy interface when they had a crew member aboard.
• Fixed the crash that was occurring when someone used the "port of call" button before downloading the entire game.
• Fixed the crash that was occurring when using the Voodoo Staff Soul Flay skill.
• Removed avatar panel pop-up that occurred when clicking on other ships. This was allowing people to teleport to another player's ship even if they were not friends, crew mates, or Guild mates.

No lol I like the fact that random people won't be able to board I would rather crew people first and know who's coming on board. I dont mind friends or guild mateys coming on board, but random ppl without asking kinda bugs me. If they had asked first then yeah. But this would prevent someone out in the ocean just boarding your ship without permission. Why can't they just whisper or ask to board first? It's easy to do.

I didn't even realize that other players can board your ship, I always just thought everyone came by teleporting to one of my friends or crewmates on your ship.

Nope lol. Most of the time a smaller ship will get right next to yours. For me its usually a sloop, and all they would have to do is click on someone on your ship, bring up their menu and hit goto. More often then not, they will keep clicking on you to be friends. In my experience they don't talk, they just start shooting cannons. If you happen to be away from the wheel, they might even take over lol. The people that do ask first, have the manners, and I would allow them on board.

My understanding is that these updates have already happened and whatever they do tonight will be something else?

Could be wrong.....wouldn't be the first time.....

well as of today that last fix i never had happen but now today ive had it happen 7 times

well for 2 hours they could have been testing something or improving some graphics or might have just had to do a routine matinence shut down of the servers

no, like i said in the thread that got closed..umm, why?...the dev's got a new foose-ball table, and they needed some time to assemble it.
