New gaming computer wont work -_-

so, i just built my own computer, put it together and all got it approved by my dad, we did it right, plugged it in to the monitor with the proper cords, turned it on, it turned on just fine, but nothing showed up on screen, any ideas?

Happened to my laptop.

I went all the way down to the computer place only to find out I had to take the battery out and back in

Were all the parts to the computer brand new? Or were some salvaged? If they were salvaged you may want to check to make sure that they are working.

also check the graphic card to see if it is installed properly check on a nother moniter if possible i built my own computer and will try to help you here if i can let us know what you did and if it works

Did you hear any beeps from the machine? did your hard drive light go on?

I would check:

* is the video card in the slot correctly - take it out and try to replace it.
* look at the mother board instructions
- Does it have its own video built in
- There maybe a switch to tell it what kind of video card you are using
* Based on the switches for the Mother Board - what kind of slot is your video card using and is it in the right slot

* Do you have another computer that you can 'borrow' a video card from that you know works?

yes they were all brand new, and for jack, trying that stuff today!

Hmm i think you should ask bill gates :P bu if i be serius i say... re wire everything but it in backwards maybe dig threw it and clean it.Redo it and it may be fine

ok we were putting it together piece by piece, and summarized that it was the mother board that was the problem, so we sent it back and got a new one, guess what, the new one did the exact same thing.....

Want to tell us your setup maybe two parts don't work together like the right ram, making sure you have ddr2 if its a ddr2 motherboard and so on.

we tried it with/without ram and if it was working properly we should be getting warning beeps from the built in speaker but no....

A good resource for this sort of thing is the tech forums at tom's hardware.

Always take your time when doing a build especially if it is your first. Add as few components as possible and just get it to run before adding any extras.

I gave it to my dads friend as a piece of junk, and low and behold he got it to work! Now i gotta get it back....
