help the games freezing my cpu

ok so mad with disney right now lol. since the newer update that raise lv cap to 50 and speed of boats, i have been getting computer crashes caused by this game. i have all the requirements and way above that lol. i have played many advanced games such as aoin worldofwarcraft lotro star wars galaxies city of heroes and so on. problem is whenever i connect to the server. 5-10 minutes later my whole cpu crashes. it usually crashes with many rectangles spread across the screen with different colors or names plz help

You may need to update something.. or change the type of graphics you use if it is just a crash from the game itself. Someone else probably has a better solution though. Good luck

i am updated all the way to vista sp1 will updating to service pack 2 help?

It may not be an OS issue.
Have you changed any of the graphic settings in the game?

When you first start the game launcher, where you login.
There is a "Graphic Options" button down at the bottom.
Have you tried changing settings here? The default is OpenGL, however alot of systems require a DirectX setting to be used. Try the various settings to see what works best (hoping that will help).

Other than that, obtaining the latest video drivers for your computers video adapter/card usually does not hurt.

well i logged back in after installing sp2 for vista that seemed to do the trick. wats odd is all the prior patches i didnt need even sp1 lol. ill pst back if this fix is still working tomorrow but looking good lets hope it lasts thx for the help all

I have a horrible cp. It lags so much and sometimes so long that when I am fighting an enemy, I die because the enemy is just hacking at me with me just standing there -_-.

Usually these do end up coming down to a graphics issue, however maybe it could be a corrupt file.

Have you uninstalled (ie completely deleted the game application) and reinstalled?

Do an uninstall through Vista's control panel, etc and verify afterwards its completely gone by checking its folder: "C:\Program Files\Disney\Disney Online\PiratesOnline"
Not sure if its any different on Vista or not though.
Delete it if its there, and then Reinstall the game.

i found the problem lol thx for telling me about the graphics options on the launcher after changing it to direct x instead of wat its usually on it only froze 1ce after playing for about 8 hours or so. should be fine now thx zeps for linking that thread.
