Testers should post in TEST

We were doing some testing last night, to figure out the new quests, and have figured that under level ten you can get two of them, levels in the teens can get three of them, and we were trying to figure out what level unlocked all four tasks. Between Di and I we have pirates at all levels except in the 20s, (guess we will have to delete and fix that), so I went to ask for help from friends, only to find that some had figured out that the level to unlock all four is level 20. I can’t tell you how disappointed I was to find out that people are NOT posting findings in the TEST forum, I’m really frustrated. The test forum is where testers are supposed to discuss issues on test, without posts about how do I get test, I wish I had test, or OMG I can’t wait ‘til that hits LIVE! As a tester, I rarely look at the open forums for issues on the test server. As the test mod on TTC, I guess I’m spoiled, and assume that testers will all post info that needs to be shared IN THE TEST FORUM.

This update is big, and unfortunately I do not think the volume of testers here on POF even know of the test forum, and likely never see it.

Since its been site policy to post release notes, both test, and open on the sites news thread, and sometimes our hosted guilds, start their own threads it does tend to spread the information out, and probably limits testing members questions about test conversations on the board, as its being discussed in open forum.

Added: There is also the issue of various guilds being hosted here that post their own "test" threads further spreading the information in a broader harder to find.. scope.

Not the answer, but an explanation.

Perhaps we should try some PR in the open forums to get testers in "The Helm" and discussing things.

And, yeah, I added that info after your voiced your displeasure my friend, point taken.

You have a valid point Luvbug. I'll try to post here more, and less in the open forum.

Part of my reasoning was that Current News is where the release notes were posted and there was a lot of interest by all there.

The other part is that everyone who plays the game, not just testers, has been anxiously awaiting news of updates. I know before I got access to the test server I was thrilled to read reports from testers and have an idea of what we'd be seeing on open. So I have a kind of "pay it forward" mentality in that regard.

General discussion in the News thread is fine, ukebec. What we'd like to see in the Helm is discussion regarding the issues, bugs, findings, etc that testers are finding with each release and beyond. The Release Notes are posted in the Helm for that purpose, to bring the serious testing discussion together without cohesiveness being lost in off-topic posts.
