It occurs to me that I didn't tell you guys how I sail. The day I became a DW I went sailing with Jess... I'd never seen anything like it! The very next day I set out to teach myself how it was done. I get my ship absolutely no closer than the very edge of my compass. (When sailing alone. With a crew it's different, but I'm referring to alone.) When my target is at the very edge of my compass I tag it with Thunderbolt. The instant it's turned I hammer on it's sails till they are fully stripped. The skellies reinforced masts make this harder. Yet I do manage. With the sails fully stripped I go back to the wheel, turn my ship to a perfect T with my target, and broadside it to Davy Jones. Even with skellies I have to move in close to broadside range. It's not the distance Zep, it's the ship. I've had other DW's tell me the same thing, skellies are just prone to turning even if you do fully strip the sails before they turn. I find almost every time this happens, it's a Death Omen ship. Sometimes, only sometimes, other skellies do it. So I try to avoid Death Omens. It occurs to me that you and I have never sailed together. I'm putting this out now, come watch me in action and you'll see what I mean. My ships are always open to friends, guild, and crew. Just come see Kat O'hara. I don't say this as a matter of bragging but a statement of fact. I am absolutly one of the best sailors I've seen. Once I learned my technique, I made it a high art. With the exceptions of spawning, I have been known to sink a full hold worth of ships with not one scratch on me. In case you wonder where I sail I always ply the waters between PDF, and Kingshead. Sailing alone I hunt 35+ exclusively. Sailing with crew 30+. My prime targets are Behemoths, Colossus, and Dreadnaughts. If I can see them Juggernauts. Nothing else is worth my time. Why bother with a Warlord? I can sink them too easy. I want a challenge. I'm waiting patiently for D to put out level 50 monster big ships. Great big huge suckers like the guy in the BB. I'll tear that to shreds too. Please note, yes, I really am that good. There are guildmates I sail with regularly who will confirm this if you think I'm just exaggerating. I am a monster sinker. It's my specialty. Why else would I be a 30 with just 2 1/2 levels to mastering both cannon and sail but my other weapons aren't but inching 15? (Secpt grenades, them things are fun!) I dunno how this turned into a can I do it, but I hope by reading my technique, those of you who have never seen it done try it. I hope you too get out there monster ship hunting. Till then I'll be out in the Hinterseas, sinking the monsters...

No one is doubting you sailing ability Kat. I see nothing but positive replys here...
Glad to see another fearless sailor out there. The technique you described has woked for a lot of us since day one Once you get it down, those monster ships really are fish in a barrel ![]() Loot Hard! |

Juggernaut LOL
I've sunk 6 so far within a week. They aren't very hard if you dodge the explosives, and they are usually found behind padres, behind isla perdida, or between kingshead and avarcia. and with 28 sailing and max treasure sense i usually get 2 -3 royals for sinking it

When I sail near Padres, I see many Juggernauts. Not rare to me. Sometimes I don't see them, but I see them a lot when I sail and I sail rarely. Pretty much all the ships in the game aren't rare. Including the Dreadnaught and Death Omen.

Yes, I've noticed that too. Since the last update I can almost always find the Juggernaut out in the little triangle between Padres, Kingshead and Avaricia. Usually more toward the KH Avaricia end of it. They tend to be nice big 44s and 45s. Not so rare now but still really fun to sink!

Also, they reward good reps, and a challenge. Pirates are into the biggest profits, with the least amount of effort. hmmm Juggernaut here, or a collussus on other side of ocean.... Ill sink the Juggernaut. There was a day that the ships you also just referred to did not exist in the game, and the Juggy became quite popular. It still is to many of us old pirates. |

I love hunting for the Juggernaut. As far as sinking them, I've done distance successfully, as well as alongside at pistol shot range. And I did end up sinking to get this screenie, but thought it was so cool to see both of them so close together.

Dr. Zepper's has the truth of it. Tis yer cannon skill that makes taking the big boys down easy. Get thier attention with a Thunder shot and strip the sails as they come in. Sittin ducks after that. Not so easy to take them with sailing alone though but can be done. The timing is crucial.
Thanks for the information on the Treasure Sense skill. That explains why it didn't always seem to work fer me. I was gettin off the wheel and using me cannon. Captain Whale |

We found one last night off of PDF and it respawned a few times. So you might try looking off PDF - turn left when you leave the dock and head that way. Good luck.

As you can see from my Avatar, I love Juggernauts, and know a lot about 'em. Your theory is partly true. They do not sail in a complete circle, though, and there can sometimes be more than 1 Juggernaut in a server. Mostly, they're in quiet servers. You can occasionally find them in Ideal servers, but rarely in places like Abassa. Also, they do respawn, occasionally, in the Uncharted Warers of where Behemoths, Death Omen, and other ships, appear. They will continue for a few moments, but eventually stop respawning. Also, the treasure you get from them depends on the rank of Treasure Sense you have. I've gotten Royal Chests quite a lot from them, because my Treasure Sense is Rank 5. So, Juggernauts are pretty good, and are fun to fight. Edit: Fixed some of the things I said. Originally, I said them in a way I didn't mean to say it in.
